RECEIVED
* 11 JUL 07
Hongkong,
8th June 1907.
Report on Ordinance No. 5 of 1907
I have examined the accompanying Ordinance, entitled "An Ordinance to amend the Married Women's Property Ordinance, 1906" and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to the Governor's Instructions.
The object of this Ordinance is to insert a proviso to section 9 of the Principal Ordinance to prevent the reopening of past proceedings or the alteration of things done between January 1st, 1906, and the 15th June, 1906.
It is thought desirable to substitute for section 9 of the Principal Ordinance, which is ambiguous and inconsistent with its original note, new section 9 which follows verbatim section 5 of the Married Women's Property Act of 1882.
Attorney General.
